Ooof it’s both a relief and frustrating to know this is a broader phenomenon than I thought, regretfully mainstream Judaism isn’t exactly quick to catch up w the changing needs of their congregants. There are some great innovators trying to thread the needle but it isn’t a widespread movement yet.
<sigh> I'm out of patience with the old "regulation hinders innovation" crap. Let's not forget that some of the most creative innovators are criminals - spurred on by... regulation. *Good* regulation mitigates risk, and creates the incentives and opportunity for beneficial innovation.
