there's a reason that the only good game in the "mascot horror" genre has even been good, and it's because My Friendly Neighborhood wasn't emulating fnaf, it was emulating Resident Evil and you don't even need a big budget or mechanical depth to make good horror games, look at kittyhorrorshow

Try "Anatomy" by kittyhorrorshow on itch. Game about doing a house tour. You do a few playthroughs and it really makes you think about the way you treat the place you live.
If you want a short lil experience id recommend literally anything by Kittyhorrorshow but ESPECIALLY anatomy. It's super short (literally under an hour) and meant to be replayed. Their games are less games and more experiences but they're great. If you want something longer check out Who's Lila?

I originally made this for a gamejam inspired by the gamedev KittyHorrorshow (creator of such amazing works like the game 'Anatomy' kittyhorrorshow.itch.io/anatomy I was unable to finish this in time, as it was my first '3D' game and a huge learning experience but that was a great summer regardless
