I like that the robot was clearly based off of the laputa robot and had some really pretty shots especially with the bird shots. like when they were migrating or flying to the ship . above average but idk it feels like its missing something to be a Real masterpiece

While I'm at it: "Whisper of the Heart" is the second best Ghibli film and is a masterpiece that dwarfs basically everything else the studio did (aside from Laputa).
I will add that Laputa: Castle in the Sky is one of fewer than 15 5-star ratings I have given out btw.
