imo what if we just kinda scrapped sub abilities as a whole each gear item only gets 1 main ability, BUT you get to have 5 gear items instead of 3 - headgear - clothing - legwear - shoes - ink tank gear levels up through use, to gradually increase the AP provided by that main ability from 3 to 10
