The #Devonian Lungfish, Scaumenacia curta (ROMVP80068), that I saw at the @ROMtoronto. This specimen probably came from the Escuminac Formation Laggertätte of Québec, which most likely was a large estuary. it would have shared its environment with Elpistostege & Pterygotus.

Here are some pre-historic fish fossils from the Age of Fishes museum in Canowindra, NSW. They’re all from the Devonian period which is about 418-354 million years ago. The fish on the far right has descendants still living today - the coelacanth and the lungfish. Amazing sights. 📷 mine
