as for non nuclear millwright work: it’s better in some respects but very contextual my millwright training teacher, who was just about to retire himself, liked to tell us about how the typical life expectancy for a millwright was two years past retirement he wasn’t joking he was missing a finger
and then reemployed for those outages sometimes you’d learn about them in advance sometimes they’d want you there ASAP you’d genuinely make thousands a week but at extreme mental cost and sometimes physical as well (nuclear is much better in this regard than other millwright work)
