Guy called Kurti introduced me to CBT. I like it’s practices, and while I find DBT gets more cleanly to the heart of my issues, both were instrumental in familiarizing myself with biases. Monotropism, dialectics, and all or nothing thinking steer us towards very opposing ideas and we must choose.

People don’t really get it because those who can socialise naturally don’t think of it any differently to breathing. Yes the monotropism kicks in. Epic burnout indeed. Been over two years and just coming out of it.

One of the main themes of the Stanford Neurodiversity Summit has been ND-informed approaches to supporting autistic patients, clients, and students. It's been refreshing to see clinicians like Dr. @mengchuanlai.bsky.socialmed.stanford.edu/neurodiversi...

I *have* picked some healthy habits over the years turns out — finished a chunky section and decided to get some proper sleep after all and go again tomorrow morning 😇 getting the mind to fixate is the hardest innit; once it's set it's set though. ✨ monotropism

#PrayerToAll#Autism has "Sensory Overload" and Monotropism / Hyperfocus on topics. Long-term "special interest" topic attention. Communications disorder brain crash. So maybe I'm just defective brain and naming off the disorders. I'm stuck in my local language, local signals now.

This article was co-authored by Tanya Adkin and David Gray-Hammond Monotropism is a theory of autism. It is used interchangeably as a theory and also a trait that describes a style of attention. emergentdivergence.com/2023/06/05/c...

It's just occurred to me that this is the first time some of you may be hearing about monotropism. So here's a really great resource on the subject.
