A new Peirosauridae (#Crocodyliformes, Notosuchia) from the Adamantina Formation (Bauru Group, Late Cretaceous), with a revised phylogenetic analysis of Sebecia 🧪⚒️ Juan V. Ruiz, Marcos V. L. Queiroz, Kawan C. Martins et al (Art: Guilherme Gehr) anatomypubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

Artistic reconstruction of the new crocodyliforme in a river or wetland setting. One animal is walking into the river with its mouth open near a fallen tree; another animal is in the river--its mouth wide open to enable a bird to sit on its lower jaw and perhaps to help clean its teeth (like today's plover). There is a theropod in the background and some trees.

To all to the croc fanatics out there: my most recent publication 📖 on the osteology of a mostly complete juvenile baurusuchid 🐊! We also highlight osteological correlatives of ontogeny that may be used for other crocodyliform clades #paleontology#notosuchia Please DM me if interested

Cranial and postcranial anatomy of a juvenile baurusuchid (Notosuchia, Crocodylomorpha) and the taxonomical implications of ontogeny

I aim to cover more groups later on, but as a starting point here is part 1, which deals with the group Notosuchia, the diversity in osteoderms found within it and recent suggestions regarding the soft tissue

ttention paleoartists. I finally finished one part of something that I've been planning to do a long time, a collection of references for the osteoderms of various pseudosuchian groups, starting with Notosuchia.
