It's already out of date, it seems, but yet another variant of Omicron (I felt quite nostalgic even hearing that!)

I found Alpha and Omega in Labyrinthos today! I wonder where their adventures will take them next? What would happen if Omega gets on the Ragnarok and goes to Base Omicron in Ultima Thule?? [ #GPOSERS#Au_Ra#ffxivscreenshot ]

More generally we were at a lowest point since Omicron spread a few weeks back, and it is likely it has come up a little since then based on people in hospital with covid.

I guess it's official. No Novavax for Ontario. The pharmacy who gave us Novavax last season sent this email today.

I am just letting you know that the Ministry of Health has decided to remove the Novavax Covid vaccine from the Ontario publicly funded program for the 2024-2025 season. Please refer to the official announcement from the MOH:

"COVID-19 vaccines available for fall 2024 NACI recommends that only vaccines containing the latest selected strain should be used in fall 2024. Ontario will have two mRNA COVID-19 vaccines for the 2024/2025 season, Moderna and Pfizer, both targeting the Omicron KP.2 variant. Moderna will be the vaccine available for children 6 months to 11 years of age. The updated protein subunit COVID-19 vaccine, Novavax will not be available in Ontario for the 2024/2025 season. Individuals who are unable to receive an mRNA vaccine, should speak with their health care provider about treatment options, including the use of Paxlovid, to reduce the duration and severity of illness."

I mean that's really insane though. Masking went down because it's dramatically less effective against post-omicron variants & the unavailability of a (exorbitantly expensive) treatment for a fraction of a fraction of the population is hardly a qualifier for "worse".
