the spider plants are also doing well! For instance, this one was previous in that tiny purple pot you see on the windowsill. Now it's HUGE. We have a slightly larger one not pictured as well.

Chlorophytum comosum variegatum cultivar spider plant. It hangs above our sink! Its old pot is the purple one + saucer you see on the windowsill. Please ignore our overgrown backyard... We focused on taking care of Spunkie this year instead of clearing out brush and spraying away house bugs...

Hunting for spiders was a welcome distraction after spending 2 days in the old limestone quarry. I got to learn more about them #Arachtober#lichen engulfing moss. Yesterday I looked through my samples and there were at least 3 morphologies of jelly lichen, stay tuned.

Wilderness birds, this Jay is far far away from me, I have been observing some of the birds, it was mutual, only the loud comments came from the birds. I have been chirping and followed and were followed by other chirping noises. Plus sparrowhawk looking for dinner 🦉🪶

Imternet says sparrowhawk. This bird of prey was high in the air doing the hunting circles above the overgrown orchard, wings spread and tail fan too

A rescue mission. This fluffy dark orange brown and black noodle just chilled in the middle of a very narrow and overgrown path, so I took some grass and let the caterpillar curl around it, moved the animal up the slope and hid her under the leaf 🐛 #BugSky#Caterpillar#Invertebrates

Maybe a Fox Moth caterpillar. This noodle was circa 7 centimetres long, resting in green grass, dark brownish orange body with black and beige hairs all over. Her head is in the lower part and tail in the upper part of the top view photo
I used a dead grass stem to pick her up, she curled around it and held onto it so I placed her in a small weaved basket
I relocated her onto a higher area far from the path onto a big green leaf
And covered her new place with another leaf until she unravels and goes about her business

Lonesome Sofa: farewell, Summer.
