Clapham Junction: time to sign off for a bit, back in just under two weeks time for a trip back to Bulgaria's Second City - this time giving more than a few hours to explore one of the oldest settlements in Europe. Next up is Пловдив / Plovdiv

My mother visited Plovdiv last year, if I recall correctly. I'm a big guy (over 400lbs) so I find travel to be super tiresome, and flying to be absolutely awful. I occasionally fly to the UK to see family, but otherwise I avoid flying. Getting to Bulgaria would be hard for someone like me.

I haven’t been to Bulgaria since Covid. My recommendation is, if you ever go, visit Plovdiv. But I understand if you don’t.

Some people in #plovdiv don't like colours or something? Must be such a sad life 😔

Or, if you’re an only child, you can inherit your parents house. That is how I got an apartment in Bulgaria. I don’t live there, my brother collecting a rent. So no matter how bad my situation in US becomes, I would never be homeless, as soon as I find a way to get to Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Almost saw him in the Plovdiv orchestral show, but backed out. Good thing we did, because Hurricane Maria hit shortly before the show, so we wouldn't have been able to go anyway.
