First cool morning in weeks! Off we went to say hello to Hakone Gardens for a sweet moment.

Wishes dangle from the skinny bamboo near the front gate, left from the 7th day/7th month fest in honor of the bridge of birds that allow a celestial weaver & her beloved cowherd to meet once a year
A geavel pathway leads up into the garden with many plants of all kinds: mounds of Japanese maples with their intricate leaves, curly pines, a hydrangea popping off pink flower poufs n the way to taller trees
An old wooden bridge curves up over a koi pond, some folks have bought a packet of fish food from the gift shop and the koi are quite attentive
Sitting under a bower looking across the pond, one sees a couple dozen different plants growing from small to knee high to large manzanita and a camphor tree up on the hill. A stone lantern stands by a small waterfall.
