„I want to believe.“ A famous idea and visual, highlighting the wish of people to believe almost anything. You land in pseudoscience, pseudoarcheology and the like. This is a rabbit hole, often leading to conspiracy myths. #

I think the series is called Dark Roads, it is indeed amazing stuff. Most of his other stuff is debunking pseudoarcheology, so it’s all good. Yeah some of the stuff he does concerns indigenous tribes who were able to keep their identity relatively late in historical terms.

True story, back in the 90's I randomly picked up "Fingerprint of the Gods" and never read it. Teenager me, could not have guessed pseudoarcheology was a thing. Missed opportunity to become a meme.

"Aliens" meme guy. Dressed in a gray suit with taupe button up and tie. A white man with receding hairline that is fluffed wildly at the sides and back has his hands raised with palms facing each other as he says "Aliens"

The background of the room he is seated in has wood paneling.
Cover for the book Fingerprints of the Gods by Graham Hancock.

Cover has a black background with the title in red text and the authors name in a sandy yellow color. There is a picture of the Egyptian sphinx monument with a sunburst behind it in place of the letter "O" when the word "Gods" is spelled out

Dibble vs Hancock on Rogan's podcast reminded me a lot of the old Firing Line debates. Unsurprised by nitwits calling expertise "arrogance" and Hancock attempting to deflect from the racist origins of his myth. Hopefully some moderates have been diswaded from pseudoarcheology

Literal Nazi shit. Lovely. Pseudoarcheology needs to die.
