„I want to believe.“ A famous idea and visual, highlighting the wish of people to believe almost anything. You land in pseudoscience, pseudoarcheology and the like. This is a rabbit hole, often leading to conspiracy myths. #
also more of a kvetch but more things need to do with the ISB being like true believers in shit and working with like, the Inquisitors in terms of like [gestures at stuff] you can't tell me there wouldn't be the weird Nazi pseudoarcheology shit but for the Empire
I think the series is called Dark Roads, it is indeed amazing stuff. Most of his other stuff is debunking pseudoarcheology, so it’s all good. Yeah some of the stuff he does concerns indigenous tribes who were able to keep their identity relatively late in historical terms.

Dibble vs Hancock on Rogan's podcast reminded me a lot of the old Firing Line debates. Unsurprised by nitwits calling expertise "arrogance" and Hancock attempting to deflect from the racist origins of his myth. Hopefully some moderates have been diswaded from pseudoarcheology
Literal Nazi shit. Lovely. Pseudoarcheology needs to die.
