Oh sure let’s reinforce the schools and turn them into prisons rather than address the guns #debate

The in-law I recently finally went no contact with used the expression "smell test" often, whenever he wanted to reinforce a point he had zero facts to back up they must use it on fox a lot

Then why do you reinforce it?

yea i've done my fair share of group meetings i find them kinda frustrating and honestly feel like they reinforce my issues personally, tho i've seen how profoundly helpful they are to others too i have a lotta hope for you!!! i'm glad ur trying still!!!

OOF i would say it’s potentially a bad idea, BUT, you’re bringing a friend so make sure they know the warning signs of you having A Bad Feeling Time. it might help you resolve feelings you still have, BUT it might also reinforce them. good luck!

Really? Huh, I hadn’t heard that. Ok, just the other three then, but that really does reinforce my point.

@business: A Chinese kitchenware firm’s Hong Kong listing will likely reinforce perceptions that the city’s once-anemic initial public offering market has sprung to life

Generally great thread. But the word “dumb” is ableist language and should be avoided.

How to avoid using ableist language

Common examples of ableist language are words like, “lame,” “dumb,” “retarded,” “blind,” “deaf,”“idiot,” “imbecile,’ “nuts,” “psycho,” and “spaz.”
These terms can be associated with a person’s
identity or their challenges, and because of that, can be interpreted as insulting or hurtful. And every time people use them, they reinforce the idea that people with disabilities are somehow inferior.

Maintaining "impartiality" and "journalistic distance" does not actually require reporters to reinforce their subjects' ignorance, or amplify incorrect or uninformed points of view to millions of readers. When an interviewee says something inane, it's okay to inform them of objective facts.

This #BlackHistoryMonth will the learning you facilitate in your classroom centre Black joy, creativity and resistance or reinforce the more passive narratives of oppression, suffering or stoic resilience?
