I have rethought my position on this and it’s buying out strategic chunks of big ag to rewild the Central Valley
It's a link dump! where do all those young right-wing commentators come from?; campaign to rewild CofE land; artists are now locked into self-promotion; Darcus Howe and the Mangrove Nine; Pat Nevin on Pele; a glossary of bullshit writing terms liberalengland.blogspot.com/2024/10/the-...
Where do all those young right-wing media commentators spring from? Olly Haynes exposes the talent agencies funded by American fossil fuel ...
While we must do all we can to preserve habitats and wildlife wherever they are, in nature-depleted countries like the UK we must do much more to rewild and restore our own lands too. Our rainforests and wetlands once teemed with life too, and could do again if we allow wilder habitats to return.
Utterly horrendous. “Latin America and the Caribbean recorded the steepest average declines in recorded wildlife populations, with a 95% fall.” www.theguardian.com/environment/...
As average population falls reach 95% in some regions, experts call for urgent action but insist ‘nature can recover’
hey um the paper this story is based on calls for "gradually reducing the human population" through "empowering education" (sic) and "rights for girls and women" 😕 www.theguardian.com/environment/...academic.oup.com/bioscience/a...
A couple of days ago I said if I was absurdly billionaire rich I would buy up places (on the edges of temperate rainforests) and rewild them. And then the opportunity comes along to help a project in the temperate rainforest zone in a small way.

The purchase of Skiddaw Forest (including Skiddaw summit) presents an unparalleled opportunity for nature and Cumbrian Wildlife. With your help, this world renowned wilderness can be protected for nat...
Had a good MAiD grief support group call, early before dawn. I'll be hiking up Table Mountain to rewild my partner Una's ashes in less than a week, and I've been meditating on what closure I want to achieve. The most important thought I have that I will leave only her ashes. I keep the rest.
I loved seeing today in London some of the people I find most inspiring at an event organised by "Wild Card" to encourage the Church to rewild some of its land (wildcard.land/campaigns/re...). Chris Packham, Emma Smart, Paul Powlesland, Guy Shrubsole, Tristram Wyatt, etc, on a wild day:
be glad to embrace, because when the world around us flourishes, so do we. The material life in the midst of which we live is the neighbour we must learn to love – and love for itself.” #RowanWilliams#ChurchOfEngland#CofE#95Theseswildcard.land/campaigns/rewild… (2/2)
I would buy every golf course I could and turn it into housing or rewild it for parks/bugs.
