Everybody’s heard of Three Mile Island and Chernobyl, and a fair number of people have heard of SL-1 and Rocky Flats, but until today I had never heard of the Rocketdyne/Santa Susana Field Lab incidents (yes, plural).

The case of Atlas III using RD-180 was also in part because they [Lockheed Martin] did not feel confident if I recall in Rocketdyne developing two-new engines at the same time, since they were currently working on what led into RS-68 (originally the STME) for what became Delta IV.

Yes, that's the one. It's less of a polished museum experience and more of a "here's a bunch of stuff", including the exhaust bell of a RocketDyne F-1 and the shop where they perform restorations. The other building is a short walk from there.

Well now Boeing and Rocketdyne can get busy investigating any concerns that kept the crew on the ISS. This is basically an optimal outcome.
