Thanks to Literacy Coach Heidi M. for sending me these photos from my #schoolvisit#IWantToReadALLTheBooks book tour! Photo 1: Showing how mistakes can be turned into collage paper to make new art. Photo 2: Showing how I based two of the characters on my parents.

A woman with glasses and a floral dress smiles warmly as she interacts with a young girl drawing colorful scribbles on a large flipchart. The girl, facing away, wears a teal hoodie and pink pants, while a seated group of children watches the playful activity. The setting appears lively and engaging, possibly part of a classroom or storytelling session.
A woman in a floral dress and black cardigan presents to a group of children, gesturing toward a screen displaying playful illustrations and old photographs. The screen shows a drawing of two elderly figures, alongside the sign "All the Books," and a few black-and-white photos. The children sit attentively on the floor, engaging with the presentation, creating a lively and educational atmosphere.

I had an INCREDIBLE time talking with young readers in IL, WI, & MA this past week. K-3 kids are so honest, curious, & open-minded. Gives me hope for the future. Also helped show them that when you're having fun w/ art, there's no such thing as making a mistake. #SchoolVisit#IWantToReadALLTheBooks

A large group of elementary-aged children sit attentively on the floor of a school multipurpose room, watching a presentation projected on a screen at the front. Teachers and staff are seated along the room’s sides, supervising the event. The room is lively, filled with colorful decorations hanging from the ceiling. Photo credit: Jillian H.
A young girl places a piece of torn paper onto a large easel during an interactive presentation, while the presenter, dressed in a floral dress and black cardigan, claps enthusiastically. The audience of children seated on the floor watches closely, fully engaged in the activity. A colorful book cover is partially visible on the screen in the background, suggesting a creative or literacy-themed event.

We have 80 schools registered for my virtual launch of Izzy Wong's Nose for News. Still some room in the Zoom for your middle-grade class to join the fun. There will be prize giveaways and some cool surprises. #edusky#schoolvisitcilc.zoom.us/webinar/regi...

Today's virtual #schoolvisit had me presenting to ninth graders in Calgary. What a keen group of kids. I half-expected quiet and surly, but I got engaged and amiable. I'll take that any day!

Not saying my #virtual#schoolvisit dance card is getting full, but I nearly booked myself for a session in... January.

A teacher just used 🔥 to describe today's virtual #schoolvisit. I hope that means I won over her students. Either that or I had better check my cable connections for a short.

CWC, the creative writing program I helped to start, is celebrating 20 years—so I’m posting photos of fun projects. In this edition: ransom letters, postcards, invisible ink messages, and applications to the Evil League of Evil. 🖊️💌📜 #schoolvisit#creativeeducation

Still going through photos of my library tour in Korea last month. Really loved this quaint library in the historic fortress town of Namhansanseong. It was too hot to explore the walkways along the walls, but I enjoyed the beautiful architecture—and the kids were amazing! #libraryvisit#schoolvisit

“Pass me an eyeball!” It’s a not a phrase you hear in every creative writing workshop, but it’s one I heard a few times while on tour last month in Korea! At Join English Library, we made monsters in bottles and wrote hatching instructions for them! 😈😈😈 #libraryvisit#schoolvisit
