Do large surface creep events link to deeper earthquakes? Huang et al.'s research on the Calaveras Fault suggests that structural controls are more important than surface creep transients in driving seismicity: doi.org/10.26443/sei...

I agree (and I enjoyed watching your tech day). I also think some of the risks about brine loss (up to 10%?) could be better acknowledged. I think this would affect water consumption and leakage from production wells to the shallow environment, in addition to induced seismicity (which you monitor).

The EPOS TCS AH webinar series returns for Season 2 Monday 30 September 4-5pm CET (3-4pm BST) online. First session is Glenda Jones and Ian Stimpson (Keele University) talking about Teaching and Outreach using the EPOS Episodes Platform. Abstract and sign-up: tcs.ah-epos.eu/webinars/ ⚒️🧪

Episodes Platform provides open access to the integrated research infrastructures of EPOS TCS AH, giving users the possibility to:
analyse anthropogenic seismicity and related hazards
assess the potential impact of geo-resource exploitation
use educational resources on anthropogenic hazards

Question: how serious should we take the induced seismicity issue? (There's also the supposed issue of radioactive substances being brought into the biosphere but the doses involved are trivial afaik)
