In 1989, I was shopping in Debenhams and heard some music on the PA. I went to customer services and asked what it was. I was told it was this, went across the road to Selectadisc and bought everything he'd done to date.

The circle was always a highpoint of my record shopping, i.e. start at Tower Piccadilly,go up Berwick St for S/Ray, D/Kool, Bluebird,Reckless & Selectadisc, then across to OxCirc HMV, out to Virgin Mega then back down Charing X Rd to Ray's & finally Neals Yard R/Trade. Kids today will never know &c.

I think I was in a Selectadisc in London many moons ago (early 90s maybe), a pretty nifty spot if I remember correctly.

I was 12, and I had a Saturday job in the market stall our neighbours ran. I was paid £12 for the day and I spent it on a vinyl out of Selectadisc in Notts

Was it Sister Ray? I remember that one, Reckless Records & Selectadisc (I think). Sister Ray was pretty small!

As somebody who first listened to during the early days of eMusic when you got so many downloads a month and then via a CD from the much missed Selectadisc, this is like getting new ears
