Thanks for entering with Hosé!! What a nice field… I wanna lie down and skygaze in it.
NJ not so bad 😍😍 but that red sky at night was followed by one of the worst Mondays in recent memory 🤨 I didn’t dare skygaze tonight but still I say: bring on Tuesday…
IDK about Cara but Genuine BSky Answer: Some feeds work on likes. Whether it be "this post needs this many likes to appear in the feed", "this feed sorts by like count" or smart feeds that work on likes (Discover, SkyGaze For You [before that one died]).
I think the reason "For You" died was that skygaze was no longer willing to allocate resources to support the feed server and invest the huge amount of work needed to do community detection on a regular basis since they've moved on to other projects.
I feel like people say this cause Discover doesn't feel as clever as IG or TikTok's one, and the one feed we had that could compete with those was SkyGaze For You… Which got extinguished by Discover!

lich'rally ABYSMALLLLLL and they recommend the default Discover Feed but it is NOT clever on the user's interests IMO. Not as much as SkyGaze ForYou used to be until they like, extend-extinguished it or whatever. They need to just have the user search for feeds in the onboarding.
Also, kinda tangential, but I'm mourning the death of SkyGaze ForYou because its algo was more tailored and algo-y than the Official Discover one was, only for it to get extinguished and replaced with the Official Discover feed 😭 (+)
alright who's gonna write the really good article about what happened to skygaze
