I drive a workhorse stickshift and when I was at the dealer for the recall to keep it from exploding, they sneered at the dirt. I glared and said: "i left the forest for this." they washed it lol

This right here. Also a French car in the states is cool in a way it isn't in Europe, I am amazed these were sold in the States in period in an effort to save AMC. It's a stickshift convertible hatch, it has to be bags of fun amidst the sh*tness, that's what French cars are for!

I don't know what to do with a car that shifts gears all by itself. I dread the day that my trusty CRV becomes impractical and untrustworthy. I will add a used Outback to my tiny list of possibilities. You just can't find anything with a stickshift these days.

In 2019 I drove from Pittsburgh to Muskegon to buy a manual stickshift bc I knew it was basically my last chance to get such a thing. Some day I’ll replace it with an EV, I just hope someone will make a wagon by then.

Nago hit 60,000 (at 60 mph and in 6th gear - don’t worry Dan took the pic) miles today! #mazda#mazda3#mazda3bnhatchback#mazda3hatchback#zoomzoom#femaledriven#girlsdrivesticktoo#3pedals#3pedalsarebetterthan2#manualtransmission#stickshift#stickshiftlife#linecamera)

The dashboard of a Mazda3 showing the odometer at 60,000 while traveling at 60 mph and in 6th gear.

It's very cool to look at, but it's a shame it's EV-only. A mild hybrid version with a stickshift would be extremely desirable.

As a driving experience? Not worth it. But as a collector item, this is a 33yo car with only 23k miles, it’s the sporty one and it’s got a stickshift, and adjusted for inflation this would be equivalent to spending $24k in 2004 for a 1971 model year car. More absurd sums have been spent.
