You have some fine suggestions here — I will be the whateverth person to endorse Coltrane’s My Favorite Things — but somehow nobody has mentioned Wynton Marsalis. He has an album called Levee Low Moan that is just wonderful, in an easygoing, low-key vein somewhat akin to Kind Of Blue.

I love all these suggestions. There’s a @captainawkward.bsky.social phrase I come back to a lot: “remove shame, emphasise agency”. You can’t MAKE ppl do things, and it’s counterproductive to try because they feel a threat to their autonomy (survival) and dig in harder. Trying to help ppl get curious
