I always wondered if a young Mike Mignola read this comic or at least saw this cover. The heavy shadows, textured stone and crooked cross tombstones are his trademarks and this cover prefigures them nicely.

I have a hyper specific type of tombstone that fascinates me, which are the Woodmen of the World tombstones (the Woodmen were a fraternal organization.). They usually look like trees or have nature elements.
