That's fair. Yeah, in my experience, there's pockets of unsavory Trekkies, but the fandom as a whole is very kind and inviting, and not solely nerd rage. I've left and returned multiple times and never been treated as a pariah. Spookyversary. YES. if you decide to, I'd love to see it. 😊

You'll probably get more out of it on a second viewing after you've seen more of Trek and some of the deep cuts make more sense, but despite being a love letter to Trekkies, it's probably the most n00b friendly show of the franchise besides Prodigy

Thinking about the woman in the 1997 documentary Trekkies who basically admitted to stalking Brent Spiner by showing the camera crew an entire photo album full of pics of him giving one talk. She had shelves full of these albums. “I’m not a Trekkie, I’m a Spinerfem.”

I find it interesting that furries make people deeply upset simply by existing in a way other “fandoms” don’t. Like, everyone mocks Marvel lovers, but no one fantasizes about killing them. Furry isn’t inherently product or IP based like trekkies etc. I don’t know what I’d call it sociologically
