(I'm using "grading" as shorthand for "providing feedback" and "assessing skill development" and a whole bevy of things that don't have to come to a number at the end. I'm all onboard for Ungrading, worry not.)

Ungrading is an equitable practice because grades do harm. And marginalized students are the ones most harmed by grades. Finding ways to reduce that harm is imperative if equity or justice is our goal...
Oh, thank you! I read the Ungrading book when it first came out, but I missed this second one! Off to read!
Not really for the courses that have research papers, since I use "ungrading" in those (i.e., making a good faith effort gets you an A, not doing that gets you an F) — no grade carrot/stick to motivate them
