First page of my comic for Hallow - a Guardian zine, for the TV show version of the danmei Guardian by Priest. Simple/flat colors and lineart with a few monochromatic screentones. Has a majorly brown palette. Text is all handwritten. 1st frame: Guo Changcheng is arriving at the office, is shown in full. He's wearing his usual clothes, a white shirt with a brown jacket and jeans. He looks tired. There's the office plate, brick wall and stairs blurred as background. Dialogue: GCC - "Ahhh. Chief Zhao sure made me run today, huh? So tired." 2nd frame: GCC sees Chu Shuzhi lying on the couch, sleeping, and smiles.
2nd page. 1st 3 frames show CSZ upper body from the side,GCC shows more and more each frame.3rd frame,GCC lies down on CSZ's shoulder.Dialogue:CSZ-Changcheng...what are you doing? 4th frame:Upper angle,CZS has his eyes open looking at GCC,who has his back turned to him. Dialogue:GCC - C-Chu-ge, I'm so tired... My legs hurt, just let me rest for a bit? Chief Zhao won't tell me off if I'm with you... 5th frame:Close of CZS's face,he's smirking.Text: snort 6th frame:Side angle.CZS is turning to GCC, spooning him.GCC blushes,surprised.Dialogue:CZS-Suit yourself. Don't wake me up again. 7th frame:Upper angle,showing both lying down on the couch, GCC has his eyes open. Text: 'can't sleep' pointing to him. 8th frame:Side angle,close of their arms,GCC clutching on CZS's arm over him.All text now are GCC's thoughts: Why do I feel this way every time we do this? 9th frame:Close of GCC's face.Text:I don't know why. Maybe he's just like that. Maybe I am just like that. The last "I" is in italics.
Third page. Same angle, but they're shown bigger at the bottom of the page. GCC is smiling, and has his eyes closed now. Behind and over them there's a big, blurred, semi-transparent image of CZS embracing GCC, in the scene when they were locked up and almost froze to death. Text: "But it feels warm... and safe... in Chu-ge's arms." End.

so my Chinese danmei is in a neat stack, with a row of English danmei in front of it... and Zhenhun is of course at the absolute bottom of the stack. I'll try to get it extricated, though. Remind me if I forget. 🤣
