Chat, we're sorry we let you down. We've covered nuclear cargo submarines, nuclear cargo ships, nuclear aircraft, nuclear rockets.. But we've neglected the most awesome segment, nuclear blimps. If the blimp could gather water, it could stay afloat for decades / until material failure.

Alt-text via GPT - "The image is a vintage cutaway illustration of a large, futuristic airship powered by nuclear energy. It features various labeled sections including passenger compartments, a command center, cargo bay, and a docking area. The top part shows schematics of the propulsion system, including a reactor and turbines. It's depicted docked at an airport with cars and small planes nearby. There are scale comparisons with other vehicles like an aircraft and a submarine. The illustration is detailed and has Russian text labels."

While we've explored most of the Earth's dry surface, there's much left to discover! Scientists & divers have been finding ancient Mayan artefacts and evidence for even older human presence below Mexico's surface, in its cenotes. 📷 by Martin Broen

The image shows a diver illuminated by flashlights on their belt illuminating a mayan skull with the help of their flashlight.

A Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) captured by Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO) in 2002.

"Our Sun will sometimes, for reasons not entirely understood, eject huge amounts of matter, mostly electrons and protons, from its atmosphere, the "corona". These are known as coronal mass ejections (CMEs). This one occurred on 4 January 2002. The sun's corona is studied through a special camera on NASA's solar-orbiting observatory, SOHO. The camera (called "LASCO") has an occulting disk to block out the bright sphere of the sun so that the relatively dim corona can be observed. In this image a separate photograph of the sun (taken about the same time by a different SOHO instrument) has been scaled and superposed over the occulting disk."

Does no one read?

Alt text via GPT - "The image shows a news headline stating that TSMC executives dismissed Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, as a "podcasting bro" and deemed his request for 36 semiconductor fabs costing $7 trillion as absurd. Below the headline is a detailed illustration of a person, in Space Marine armor, holding their forehead in apparent frustration or distress."

James Sowerby could make rocks beautiful. 1517 stans the 'making scientists make rocks pretty again' movement. 2024.

Alt text via GPT - "The image depicts a detailed, colored illustration of a rock or mineral sample, showcasing a mix of turquoise, green, and brown hues. The textured surface and variations in color suggest different mineral compositions or growth patterns. There is a small sketch of a cube in the bottom right corner, indicating crystal structure. The background is a plain, beige color."
