Oh God I remember this from 2020 Dem race. In the main pairing, you had Biden the ultimate insider who (ostensibly) knew how to work the machinery of govt, vs Bernie the righteous outsider whose management style/abilities are an open question. Ask if Bernie would be *effective* and get yelled at.

like for dems at least a presidents policies generally reflect median party view within some margin on either side and there are only some areas where personal view is going to override. And like that isn’t a small thing, Castro would’ve been infinitely better on immigration but it has limitations
