We are on day 9 of post-storm recovery, and most of Asheville has power again (the parts that are upright, at least). Water's still being sorted out. The River Arts District looks like the fucking Somme, maybe one building out of three's intact. Land's going to be cheap, though.

A lot of the little communities upriver are devastated. One of them- Elk Bend or Elk Fork or something, can't remember- is just gone. Landslide and flood happened at once. Everyone who didn't evacuate is dead or presumed dead.
