I'm in the south part of the county by the airport. I see relief flights, national guard and army choppers coming in all day and night. This is just a massive disaster. I still have no power or running water but services are being offered. It's just so much. People don't appreciate the scope of it.
Too many Americans think every problem can be fixed as quickly and easily as ordering from Amazon. They have no idea how anything works because they're infotained rather than educated and informed.
Guessing it’s hard for some folks to grasp how isolated parts of West NC were before I-26 & 40 + many secondary roads were built. Now that a lot of these roads are damaged, the logistics of getting into stranded mountain communities to deliver aide has become a huge challenge. Kudos to the helpers.👍
As someone who's spent a lot of time in north Georgia and western North Carolina I am just gobsmacked at the images and stories I'm seeing.
