I've definitely had someone tell me that they euthanized their dog because caring for him had become too much of a burden. I'm paraphrasing, but that was the gist of it.

yes, tragically ive witnessed this too. +cry bc just as one example- years ago my very elderly dog couldn't walk well for a week or so, we had to use a towel as a sling to help him go out (+to often clean him/accidents)- planned2get wheel aid but then he RECOVERED +enjoyed life a couple more years.
