also just... having scribbles in them now bc it's fun having them there to draw over/color/ink/whatever later. But yeah, I get that for YT, this sort of thumbnail/video can be attractive content, especially if the audience is other young artists... I'm sorta glad I don't use YT as much anymore ^^;

i also like using stickers on sketchbooks now, which I would have avoided before bc it felt like sketchbooks are "too temporary". Now I just enjoy making these very time-specific things of sketchbooks. each one is different!

oh you're so right. sketchbooks are just places to draw and make art in and whatever you want in whatever way. this is actually why I've started to add scrapbooking elements to mine too, it soothes that anxiety of "having good drawings" in my sketchbooks and lets me just focus on the emotion/feeling

but it's fun seeing when ppl do, because they translate or transliterate the sound into estonian, so it makes the onomatopoeia used feel special and specific. I can read an estonian comic and actually imagine/hear the sounds.

tho imo, if I look at local comics in estonia, it seems artists don't use these as much unless they have more western influences - onomatopoeia itself as a word seems so foreign, I find people just mix them up with the meaning of sound effect or "extra effects" bc they're not used much

this is interesting to think abt, bc when adapting comics into animation for example, onomatopoeia are added in some places, because they look fun and remind the viewer of the comic roots, even if a sfx is also there. onomatopoeia I've always thought of as "the visual effect written as that sound"

oh this sounds fun! this reminds of a similar thing ppl used to do around 2006 or 2007 on devart, before OC tournaments, don't recall what it was called, but everyone did fun pixel-style fighter bios of themself, sometimes including OCs. #OCbrawl is really catchy tho!
