This is a lovely reminiscence, my only complaint is that The For Carnation is, in fact, a great album, definitely in my top 5 of 2000. I really hope that someday Brian McMahan makes another record

Not that long ago dogs roamed free, like people would just let their dogs outside through unfenced yards to just wander all day long. This is where tropes like dogs chasing cars comes from. The period of time when you weren't allowed to bring dogs anywhere you wanted was actually relatively short!
