Let's start #Croctober on this website!! 🐊🐊🤩 Of all crocodylomorphs, Simosuchus (1) is certainly one of the weirdest. But do you know any of these other folks? Here are Caipirasuchus (2), Anatosuchus (3) Araripesuchus (4). They are all notosuchians, from Madagascar, Brazil, and Niger.

As of now, it'll be also my first single-author project. Something with early tetrapods and skulls. 🐸

I might have submitted a conference abstract for what will be my first in-person paleontology conference after...five years.

In the Triassic, crocs ruled and dinos drooled. Postosuchus helps make the point. Despite being dinosaur-like, Postosuchus was a pseudosuchian - a group containing crocodylians and their close relatives. The carnivore had an impressive bite, too, strong enough to puncture bony plates of herbivores 🧪

Liest man gewisse social media Kommentare, sind wir jetzt wohl schon so weit, dass das Wort "Unwetter" bei Sturmböen und Gewitter als Panikmache zählt. Wahrlich sonnige Aussichten.

Earth probably had rings during the Ordovician. This is implied by the intense asteroidal bombardment during this period, and the concentration of impact structures around the paleoequator. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...#Geology#Paleobio
