We didn't know the sound of our blood in our ears could be so loud, until we heard the #sonorous#vss365#MicroFiction#AmWriting

With Inktober and NanoWriMo both sucking, I think it's important to observe that you found a thing that you love, and you you love doing it in community. Follow that feeling to a better place, or make your own. Joy cannot be ruined by a coward's copyright.

Every baby born in Minneapolis is named Prince by default. You can change the baby's name, of course. But they're all born as Prince. Most people don't know this

My advisor gave this to me when I started grad school at UVA, and I've been giving it to every single person I've mentored since. It's a fantastic article and I highly recommend *everyone* read it, not just researchers. After all, we are all born scientists. 🧪

Ok folks there’s a massive storm and flooding so regular reminder, if at all possible and you can avoid it, DO NOT PUT YOUR BODY IN FLOOD WATER. Including these below there can also be open manholes that you can’t see and downed power lines. The water is going to pick up everything it touches.

Take Back Magic by Casey Blair, Sept 2024. Fast-paced alternate-worlds urban fantasy with an ultra-competent heroine who Has A Plan. She's good at magic battles, but what she's most competent at is seeing through the bullshit of the powers-that-be. Cliffhanger ending, but sequel soon. #BookReview
