Heavily customised Gentoo
For me Virtualbox only works well on Debian cause otherwise it keeps on collapsing in on itself
Ngl what I did for Arch linux on a craptop was horrifying Cause it went through rain and I didn't know about the battery's quality But the ethernet cable was too far from any outlet(to keep it pugged in) so I had to move the laptop and wait ages for the 1Ghz CPU to do everything Nerve wrecking
This may sound stupid but what I did is get a Ubuntu based distro and then start using it and when encountering a problem searching it online Then copying it into terminal I ended up being comfortable with the terminal yay But ngl you might not even need to use it ever Depends on what you're doing
More centralised app update and download experience (sounds like gibberish I know but you'll get it later) If you care about customisability there's that too Low spec machines are also good with Linux Microsoft finally shutting up Less bloat (depends on distro but generally true)
We literally needed to replace my friend's brothers Windows plan to Linux because the installer wasn't working and we couldn't be bothered troubleshooting for too long

"the full GUI Linux experience" This is what I meant: Installing apps Diagnostics Root apps Wine I'm fine with basically every de and wm EXCEPT FROM GNOME GNOME CAN ROT IN HELL FOR ETERNITY
I personally am not a fan of the full GUI Linux experience But it's good enough for my friend's tech unsavy little brother to use A bit of context: we tried installing Windows on his PC but it refused to install because it had no drivers installed, so we said fuck it and just got Linux set up.
