I've got it running in the background, not paying full attention to it but I've caught parts and I remember not being too keen on it as a child, but watching it now, it's kind of surrealistic genius. This happens sometimes, some films the public just doesn't connect with until some years pass.

The sets are kind of amazing, and this was made long before AI when sets were hand-built and special FX were made with human ingenuity and technical skill in the art of illusion. Like, I wanna live in this strange town on the sea. 😁

i also bounced off it as a kid but have been definitely meaning to revisit it
