I feel it's kind of concerning that you feel the need to post this to start with; you shouldn't have to, because I would hope it'd be obvious to people. Less people know, less they talk; less they talk, less danger everyone is in. Twice the pride, double the fall.

nora: totally agree, but I will note that there are some kinds of direct action that it *is* okay to talk about your involvement in - like official union action, or basic marches (depending on local laws & the risk of stuff like blacklisting ofc). best bet is to ask the organisers if you're unsure!

the lesson l learned from J6? don't make t-shirts

I was taught the opposite during protests in the 80's. Let 1 trusted friend know in case you were jailed. Let that friend know where to find your IDs, who to contact for bail, etc. If you don't tell anyone, you likely won't get things like bail money, any medications you require, etc while in jail.

addendum: Misinformation and misdirection are good... if you know what you are doing. Silence is better if you do not.
