I like having particular pens when I write. When I'm inclined to buy pens, I will usually pick up a 2- or 5-pack of Pilot V5 Precise. And when I get them home I will carefully open the package and take one out, leaving the others in.

Then, for a week, maybe two (certainly never more than two) I will have the pen on me at all times and use it to write in my day-to-day life. Then, one day, I realize I can't find it. And the urge to hate myself starts... but I have other pens! It's okay. Losing one isn't bad. I push it down.
