Just because these things are so much fun to read about and share: I recall from somewhere that bumblebees can detect the electromagnetic traces that other bumblebees leave on flowers, including when the flower was last visited, so they can harvest areas more efficiently

Postscript: even better than I remembered, it’s thought that they can *detect the electrical fields put out by flowers*, including changes in those fields when the flower is brushed up against by other bumblebees (which have a mild positive electric charge).
