I never saw Trump coming, but as a Cold War kid I always questioned whether, when push came to shove, we could rely on the USA in a confrontation with Russia; whatever our differences, as Europeans some things are a matter of mutual self-interest.

I was born in 76 I did not have the cold war trauma. Mine came when I joined the dutch reg von heutsch KNIL protests for getting their paycheck back during in burma railway or any other camp.
