Don't miss results just in this month from Earth's biggest UBI experiment: 6,000 people in rural Kenya getting cash. Result: lump sum at the start helped more than monthly payments, but both caused so much growth that even neighboring towns got wealthier, healthier, & safer! #ShareGoodNewsToo

The first results from the world’s biggest basic income experiment

Money always helps, but for the very poor, one lump sum can last a long time.

Thanks for posting this. Does the U in UBI mean Universal, or Unbalanced? Universal: everyone gets the same grant, rich or poor Unbalanced: only the very poor gets a grant, and not even equally (via some kind of lottery) My question is about whether all these experiments are doing the same thing.

The study confirms a critical concern regarding housing price inflation. As UBI raised the land value, rent costs certainly would have followed but the study doesn't address this. They also did a single limited examination of pricing, which is a very odd choice considering potential inflation.
