I was given this little 1933 General Electrc floor model radio a bit over a week ago. A very low end model but it has potential I think! Someone told me it looks like it's in agony... O.o it is a model K-55 but it's the same basic radio as the RCA model 210.
I suppose I should post something. How about another beautiful old radio? A 1937 Stromberg Carlson 180P. It was one of their best models of that model year. 17 tubes and high fidelity features.
Just watched Wolfwalkers again. I dont cry during movies. No i dont!! But dangit... 🥲
This radio/phonograph is a huge beast! It is extremely large, extremely heavy, and as much as I don't like using the term, extremely rare. A 1927/28 Stromberg Carlson model 744. The power supply chassis weighs at least 125 pounds! (57 kg) I can't lift it alone. Advertised price Sept 1927 was $1245!
Here is the very first sketch in my sketchbook by Sue Deer at my first furry con which was Albany Anthrocon 1997. I still love this piece!
Another find, a 1928 Slagle radio made in Fort Wayne Indiana. Its a model 10-29B and uses the "Technidyne" license rather than RCA or Hazeltine. Very unique radio.
Mmmm Sheetz has good food! :-9
