📸Can I interest you in some lightning? It's been dry in Chicago lately but it was quite an action-packed spring & early summer around here. This batch of photos is from May when I sat on the beach and watched a rather active storm roll out into the lake flic.kr/s/aHBqjBBAjQ#photography#fotografia

A thunderstorm illuminates the night sky over Lake Michigan. The storm now fills the entire middle third of the frame, with hints of bolts visible between the layers of horizontal clouds in front of the main thunderhead. Said thunderhead is lit up so bright and white it looks like daytime puffy white clouds were dropped into this night scene. The midnight blue sky above has now turned more of a blue hour color from the continuous lightning, and the bottom third lake reflection is much more vivid.

Bolts of lightning set against an orange sky reach backwards from right to left and toward the darkness. The reflections off the now calming lake appear weaker as the storm comes to an end.
