Overall, we probably teach and report research from/on spectroscopy on Chemistry side, which is fine, but yeah - spectroscopy is definitely an area that covers both sides of the boundary between disciplines.

There is quote I think by Herschel in the 1800s where he says that the question of color is a question for chemists (referring to the different colors elements emit when burned.) But spectroscopy as a field really took off when a chemist and physicist worked together 💗
