All I could imagine was a mutant telling Batman he doesn’t have insurance
Real surprised to see Lemire & Cowan’s The Question isn’t on here! (I haven’t read it because it is out of stock everywhere. Just feels like your vibe!)
The art is incredible and timeless, both lifelike and cartoonish. How the team handles war/imperialism as a theme is mature and nuanced (those Attila backups!!), something sorely lacking in comics let alone media in general. Thank you for the awesome rec. I can’t wait to continue the series!
I finally got around to reading the first issue. Tbh it took a few tries; I don’t think I was in the headspace for it until now. At first I was saddened that DC doesn’t make books like this anymore, and then I thought about Strange Adventures, which could be a direct descendent of BLITZKRIEG.
With its brevity and mystique, its reread value soars!
This is why I’m on Blue Sky
This is so cool and outside my wheelhouse. I read little out of anything pre-1980s, let alone war comics. Thank you for the recommendation; I will report back after reading!
Something weird, little read, offbeat, underrated, and literary (e.g., Batman Shaman)!
Swamp Thing, Kite Man, New Gods (mostly Barda, but Mister Miracle is a favorite, too)
