Genuinely makes me feel a form of power fantasy. Watching a man squirm because he's failing so miserably, and then watching the person he's tried to weaponize realize that he doesn't need to be a weapon but also understanding the harm he's done is such a beautifully poetic thing.

Genuinely my favorite scene in the first season is when it is basically explicitly stated that you can't just Coast forever. Eventually you have to put in work, and there is a cost to not doing it. Also that shitty billionaire in the series and his consistent toxicity over the course of seasons

Plus like, I'm autistic too. I've watched like several of my favorite shows and movies multiple times through. I'm happy with my media. If I want to change it I will Express desire to. Yet there are people who insist I watch certain anime.

I kind of feel that. It's one of the reasons I don't really consume anime. I've had a number of people trying to get me into certain anime and I just can't do it. I had somebody recommend Attack on Titan to me and then I actually looked into the show and I just couldn't.

Like I think Ted lasso can be a bit Toothless in certain instances, and that's kind of by design, it's rather campy and silly at some points. Shrinking can like almost explicitly say the main character is a bad person and needs to learn from what he did.

There's also a similar path in the show shrinking, who is made by the same kind of Continuum of creatives, but it's a much more effective encapsulation of the confrontation of failing and what it means to actually learn from failure instead of stumbling upwards. It also does have a cost.

It starts like that, but there is a point where that is eventually very firmly countered. Like it is explicitly stated incompetence does not reward you in many ways. There are many moments in the series where people are obligated to learn and grow, and reconcile with things.

Honestly the entire sociology of how divorced people consume culture and socialize would be, and probably is, an entire subsection of Sociology. Probably for good reason.

However the same can be true for divorced women. I've had to sit down and tell my mom that she should probably get rid of the 12 rules for life book, but Ted lasso was pretty good watching it with her. She is however really struggling to understand my transition, often due to some reactionary things

It's also a larger subset that encompasses my earlier proposed group. Divorced guys are largely to be much more sensitive, and therefore have a higher propensity towards reactionary behavior, and therefore are more likely to seek social bonds in much more intense ways and react to rebuffs worse.
