Dill seed is a spice but dill is an herb. Salt is not a spice, it is a seasoning. The only spice you listed is pepper, by which I will assume you mean black pepper. Which is spicy. Fair enough. I prefer capsaicin myself but I knew a guy like you who would just pour black pepper on everything!
