The bit in Graham Linehan's latest interview where he says that trans people "produce no art," and that there are no great trans films, music or books is very, very dangerous rhetoric, and it shouldn't be laughed off. That's classic dehumanisation of a minority.
Are we all to be Transphobic now Ted?
What a bunch of hot garbage. (Also, I've never heard of this guy!)
I wouldn't read an interview with that fucker if you paid me.
"trans people produce no art" Graham Linehan's people burned the art before burning the artists. They're back, purging 'unclean' artworks and artists, and expect us not to recognize their old dance number. www.dw.com/en/80-years-...
As if he knows anything about producing great art.
Does the interviewer not push back on that? It's so blatantly a fascist dog whistle, to let it go unchallenged is to endorse it. What's next? Comparison to cockroaches?
On the flip side, thank you to everyone in the comments for recommending some great trans art. Planning to check out the stuff I'm not familiar with.
Me reading a book about "The Matrix" as a trans movie: Well damn, that's just flat out foolish.
He has lost all privileges to synthesized music. Wendy Carlos sends her regards and all that.
Oh look! Glinner making exactly the kind of dehumanising statements that we’d never hear in a hundred years from any “decent person who doesn’t have any animosity toward trans folks but has a few genuine concerns”.
