I keep thinking of I Heard It Through the Grapevine, where an exhausted James Baldwin considers where the civil rights movement is by the early 1980s. There's a moment late in that film when he springs awake with such force. I feel like that's where Coates is now: alive and ready to speak on it.

What I enjoy about this isn't that Twitter caved, it's that it's very instructive: we actually don't have to just accept what the tech oligarchs want. Good on Lula.
In this specific case, we can acknowledge the transit context, the adjacent land uses, the cycling pinch point, the road network and desire lines. Taking the on-street parking out there makes some sense.
Every road (public right-of-way) is a balancing act, understanding need and adjacent uses. What's feasible and what's not. A true fact though is that as we move away from car space, we move away from cars.
